Meet Our Newest “Baby”

We at UpWrite Press are constantly striving to help you improve your writing. To that end, we are particularly excited about our EZ Series, a growing list of texts aimed at saving you time and enhancing your writing skills.

Our newest offering in the series is Business and Sales Correspondence: Trait-Based Strategies That Improve Writing and Save Time. This slim volume will quickly ease you through the basics of business writing, from concept to completion.

Business and Sales Correspondence will help you produce every type of business writing, from email, memos, and faxes to letters and proposals. You’ll find all the tips and advice you need, clearly organized and presented in the no-nonsense language you’ve come to expect from UpWrite Press. Here are just a few of the topics covered:

  • Planning your writing and getting started
  • Writing the latest forms, including email and text messages
  • Writing letters with a purpose
  • Writing sales proposals

In addition, a separate section explains how to use the seven traits of effective writing—ideas, organization, voice, words, sentences, correct copy, and design—to shape your correspondence into a powerful force for your business.

That Little Extra
When you work with other people, a little consideration can go a long way. If you take the last cup of coffee, make a new pot. If you notice the printer is low on toner, alert whoever changes it—or take care of it yourself if you are able and it’s allowed.

The same goes for writing. If you notice that a coworker consistently makes the same mistake (e.g., misplaced apostrophes, spelling errors), mention it. You will be doing the person a great favor. Just remember to be noncondescending. Suggesting a grammar book or other resource you use can be very helpful. A comment like, “I use this all the time” lets the person know that everyone makes mistakes.
